Richard is a 3rd generation Ebsary, who joined the family business, which was founded by his grandfather, in 1965. Richard began his career, after graduating college, as an assistant to the field supervisors and then went on to estimating and project management. In 1975, upon the retirement of his father, Richard H. Ebsary, he took over the business with two other partners, who were both civil engineers. As the company grew, Richard was able to concentrate on the business management aspects of the company, while his partners did the estimating. In 1987, Richard purchased full ownership and became the President of Ebsary Foundation Company. During his tenure as President and Owner, Richard oversaw all levels of business management, to include, project and estimate review, major contract executionand insurance and finance management.In 2011, after 45 years with the Company, Richard transferred majority ownership and the Company Presidency to his nephew, Scott Alfele, but still remains actively involved in the Company business administration and growth. Richard currently serves as a trustee on Operators Local 487 Fringe Benefit Fund and is a member of the Liberty Mutual National Advisory Board, Deep Foundations Institute, Construction Association of South Florida and the Executive’s Association of Greater Miami.
Scott is a 4th generation Ebsary, who started with the Company in 1993, after obtaining his MBA from FSU. He began his time with Ebsary as Project Engineer, but was quickly promoted toEstimator and then to Project Manager. Scott received his General Contractors license in 1998 and at that time became the Vice President and Qualifier. During his time as the Vice President, he managed all operational activities, to include, project estimating, project management and scheduling. In 2011, Scott became the majority shareholder and the President of Ebsary Foundation Company. Since becoming President, Scott is responsible for all final contractual agreements, equipment acquisition and client relations, but still spends much of his time focusing on company operations and growth and will serve as Senior Project Manager for major augercastpilingand foundation construction projects.
Matt began his career in heavy marine and foundation constructionin 2003 and has worked on projects from Maryland to the Florida Keys. After his graduation, from NC State, Matt was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army Corps of Engineers and spent 4 years serving with the 40th Engineer Battalion in Baumholder, Germany. During his tenure as an active duty army officer, he served as a Combat Engineer Platoon Leader, Support Platoon Leader and Staff Officer and was Honorably Discharged as a Captain (O-3). In 2003, Matt moved back to his home state of Maryland and began working as a Field Engineer in Heavy Marine Contracting and,after two years, was promoted to Superintendent. In 2007, Matt moved to South Florida and began working with Ebsary as a Project Manager and Estimator primarily focusing on marine construction, driven piling and sheet piling. Matt was named Vice President of construction management, in 2012, with responsibilities including senior estimator and senior manager of marine and bridge construction, business development and technical director of construction.
Mike began working for Ebsary Foundation Company in 1986,where he started as a Pile Driver Foreman. Over several years, Mike was promoted from Foremen to Pile Superintendent then to General Superintendent and then, in 2008, hewas named the Vice President of Operations. Mike began his career in foundation construction, in 1975, by joining the Local 1026 Piledrivers, Divers and Bridgebuilders Union in Hallandale Beach, Florida. He has extensive experience with pile driving, augercast foundations, crane operation, welding, sheet piling, cofferdams, tremie seals and all levels of bridge construction. As the Operations Manager, Mike oversees the service, repair and replacement of Ebsary’s entire fleet of equipment, which includes cranes, barges, pile installation equipment and earthwork equipment. He also manages and oversees all field personnel and supervisors and provides general oversight and direction for each major Ebsary construction project.
Yvette has more than 10 years of experience in construction accounting , during which time, she served as an auditor of private and public sector entities involving construction projects, which included, large General Contractors and government entities like Miami Dade Transit and Miami International Airport. She joined Ebsary in 2007 as the Company Controller, where she quickly took responsibility of Ebsary’s accounting operations, insurance and risk management, banking relations, equipment financing and cash flow management. In 2011, Yvette was named the Vice President of Finance.
